2018 Range Rover: Comfier seats, more power, updated dual-screen tech
Following the reveal of a significantly updated Range Rover Sport, Land Rover has shown the refreshed classic Range Rover line. The updates mirror the Range Rover Sport's in many ways, including the introduction of the Range Rover P400e plug-in hybrid model, but most changes are a bit more minor.
The hybrid Range Rover is badged in the same way as the Sport version, with the P400e name. It uses the same 398-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder hybrid powertrain, and has the same claimed 31-mile range on electric power only.
Aside from the all-new hybrid, the whole Range Rover line sees some mild changes to the exterior. The grilles have fresh patterns and the headlights have been tweaked. The lower grille in the front bumper is slightly simpler, looking more like one large unit. The rear bumper now has more integrated exhaust outlets.
The biggest changes to the lineup are on the inside. The new Range Rover now has the same dual 10-inch touchscreen center stack as on the Range Rover Velar and Range Rover Sport. All seats are now wider with thicker foam cushioning for greater comfort, but they can be upgraded to include 25 massage programs. There's also available "Executive Seating," standard on Autobiography models, which offer 24-way power adjustment and heated arm rests up front. In the rear, Executive Seating provides reclining seats that recline farther than before, while cosseting your passengers with heated and cooled cushions, heated arm rests, and calf and foot rests.
Other new features include the Activity Key first seen in the Jaguar F-Pace (and currently being enjoyed in our long-term fleet) and a Gesture Sunblind, which allows you to open and close the sunroof's sunblind using forward and rearward hand gestures.
On the topic of the Autobiography models, the top tier SVAutobiography Dynamic sees mild changes. It continues to get a unique grille and rear bumper. The supercharged V8 also sees a bump in horsepower from 550 horsepower to 557 horsepower.
Note that the refreshed non-hybrid Range Rovers are given the 2018 model year, while the P400e is a 2019 model year. The on-sale dates will probably reflect those of the Range Rover Sport, which will be available in non-hybrid form early next year, with the hybrid following in the summer.

The Rolls-Royce Wraith Black Badge introduces a touch of sporty prowess to the traditional elegance of the ultimate luxurious grand tourer. Powered by a turbocharged 6.6 litre V12 with 632PS and 870Nm (800Nm in the original Wraith), it will waft you along with fantastic style and tranquility. This particular car comes in at just under £320,000 but can anything come close to matching what it offers?

The Bugatti Chiron's tite of hitting 0-400-0 kmph in 42.96 seconds could barely last a month as Koenigsegg has managed to do the same, only about six seconds faster, on a Sunday and not even with its fastest car.
The whole point of records is that they are meant to be broken. It's the kind of motivation that makes the most competitive of us to step up the game for others. So, when the Bugatti Chiron went from 0-400-0 kmph in 41.96 seconds last month, all eyes were set on which car would manage to top this. That's some incredible feat anyway! However, little did Bugatti know that Swedish carmaker Koenigsegg, which broke the record earlier this week with the Koenigsegg Agera RS performing the same feat in 36.44 seconds, 5.5 seconds fewer than what Bugatti needed.
Koenigsegg test driver Niklas Lilja managed to achieve the incredible feat and the record was broken at an airfield in Vandel, Denmark. Not only was the Koenigsegg Agera RS faster across in the overall acceleration and braking time, it also hit 0-400 kmph in less time than the Bugatti - 26.88 seconds versus 32.6 seconds.
While you may think it was the automaker's idea to belittle Volkswagen's most priced offering; Koenigsegg says the run was made at the request of the car's owner who wanted to benchmark it against other hypercars.
(Koenigsegg Agera RS makes 1360 bhp with the optional pack and 1370 Nm of torque)
Interestingly, Koenigsegg Agera RS isn't the company fastest offering. That would go to the One:1. Nevertheless, the Agera RS is an absolute beast that draws power from a 5.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine. With an optional engine upgrade, the hypercar makes up to 1360 bhp of power and 1370 Nm of torque. Koenigsegg also packs in a removal roll cage in the car.

The Range Rover Sport PHEV successfully completed the Dragon Challenge at Heaven’s Gate, on Tianmen Mountain, China.
The challenge consisted of climbing 999 steps at a 45 degrees angle. It began at the bottom of the Tianmen Mountain Road, which has a stairway and 99 dizzying turns.
The hybrid SUV is the first vehicle to climb the stairs. Professional racing driver Ho-Pin Tung was behind the wheel.
To tackle the road the car was set to 'Dynamic Mode' which sharpens the throttle, changes gears in high revs, and also engages dampeners so the car stays planted.
The Range Rover Sport has a 300PS Ingenium petrol engine as well as a 116PS electric motor. Together they produce 404bhp and 500Nm of torque.

When the opportunity to jump behind the wheel of a Bugatti Chiron crosses your path, you leap at it! Joined by Andy Wallace, former Le Mans 24H winner and Bugatti demonstration driver, we explore everything there is to know about this game-changing super sports car.
From taking in all of the details found on the exterior, it's then jumping in with Andy at the wheel to learn on the road including a trip to the Autobahn and a clear stretch up to 363km/h (226mph!).
Then it's time to swap places and for me to experience the Chiron and what it feels like to pilot 1,500PS, delivered in such a gentle fashion with the full 1,600Nm torque available all the way from 2,000 to 6,000 rpm thanks to a very clever technology from the quad-turbochargers.
We've tried to leave very few details untouched, and create a very full video about the experience and what it's like to drive a Bugatti Chiron, please enjoy!

The Range Rover Velar is the newest Range Rover product built on the same platform as the Jaguar F-Pace. This new 5-passenger all-aluminum crossover is bigger than the Evoque but smaller than the full-size Range Rover or Range Rover Sport. The Range Rover Velar comes standard with a turbo 4-cylinder diesel or an optional supercharged V6 with 380hp. The vast majority of people will choose the V6 to get more power and the adjustable air suspension. The interior has a state of the art interior with two 10-inch screen for infotainment and all other vehicle functions. Handling is good and power is excellent. The interior is roomy with a functional cargo area.

World record for the BUGATTI Chiron: the 1,500 PS super car has accelerated from a standing start to 400 km/h (249 mph) and braked back to a standstill in just 42 seconds (41.96). This is the fastest time ever reached and officially measured for this driving manoeuvre for a production vehicle throughout the world. The Chiron completed the manoeuvre in a distance of only 3.112 kilometres. This underscores the supercar’s unique position in the extreme performance range. The world record was set by Juan Pablo Montoya, winner of the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix, two-time winner of the Indy 500 and three-time winner of the 24 hours of Daytona. The 0-400-0 manoeuvre is the first step on the way to a new world speed record for production vehicles which Bugatti intends to set in 2018 and a further highlight in the success story of the Chiron.
